Every person gets a kick out of controlling others. When the word control comes in..please do not start thinking controlling means power...force....
No, not at all...you can control a person..by things other than power.
And when it comes to women...we do not expect them to be controlling others with power.
(Exceptions are everywhere).
I believe they have other ways.
Many women like to show their skin ....and majority of women who get raped...are from this "skin showing" community.
(Exceptions exist here too...)

This is because...women find it entertaining only until they are on the controlling side...not when they are being controlled.
But I'd like to add ..mistake lies on both sides...and I also think...a mistake is a mistake...even if you are forced(provoked) to commit it.

i believe that some % of rape cases might be provoked by women style of clothing and behaviour. But most of them cannot be related to that. And even if woman is as you state it "hot" it does not give a man the right to do what he does.
Maybe yes, those who expose themselves are at higher risk to get in danger, but it absolutely should not excuse the jerks who call themselves men.
And it is not about blaming someone in this situation, you cant really make excuses for anyone here.
Trust me, even if a woman covers herself with clothes completely she is not safe, it is all about situation, luck, timing and many many other factors.
I disagree with your analysis that women are to be blamed for dressing atrociously. Yes, that CAN lead to temptation to some men, but look at the statistics....most of the rape cases that you'll find around have nothing what so ever to do with dressing. Maybe less than 1% of all people raped were inappropriately dressed when such a heinous crime was committed. Its not about who is to blame....it is about violation of someone's body and it is inexcusable.

well,nice one priya kutty.. :) but then,I too second Lena on the thing that a percentage of it is caused by women showing skin.But then,the fact that men can run over them shows no sense on the grounds of morality.
The fact that these same men dun take this extreme step when their mother's and sister's show their skin is in itself a good enough exception.If that was the norm,then all these mothers and sisters of these rapists would have been on the wrong side too..

Heard a radio programmme some days back. Provocative dressing wud only affect an already disturbed man to take such a extreme step of rape.

i wont completely disagree wid u dear..but the minors are even being raped..gals as young as 10 13 14 are also being harassed..are thy too to be blamed fr the skin showing thing?

I agree with u but not 100%. Dressing sense sumtimes is the cause of tis social evil. But many a time it is not so. We cant blame dressing sense in the case when the victim is a just 6 yr old child !!! Its the sick mentality of men then.

dressing can be a reason, but in most cases its not.
its fully the fault of the man concerned. even if a girl shows off her skin to a nice guy there is a 99.5 % chance that nothing would happen. but to a bad person especially if he is under influence there is much greater chance of attack even if the girl is properly dressed.

Yeah, I agree with you to some extent. There would still be a lot of victims who would have had no provoking role. The thing is PJ, men are always the wrong side...and only sometimes it is the women, who can also be blamed.

I somehow dun agree with that. Alot of Middle Eastern women who r covered from head to toes get raped on a regular basis, and mostly by their own loved-ones...so lets not even go there!
Blaming a woman for her clothing for getting raped is like finding an excuse for being male.
