Ten years of GlOrY??

Its 10 years today after "Kargil".
A great matter of pride for India. Whenever I hear about such sacrifices tears come out of my eyes.
It distresses me even more when people around me (my friends) do not take it as a very big thing.

Yesterday I told one of my friends...about the tenth anniversary of "Kargil" and the sacrifices that bring tears to my eyes.

She exclaimed "they get money na what's the big deal then?"
Not only her many people in India think like that.

My only question to them would be "Can you really compare life with money?"
We did give Pakistan a back breaking reply. We did achieve success.

It's a dilemma...Should I be happy or sad?

We win or lose..lives have been lost on both sides.

Is there anything more precious than life?
Even a paradise on Earth is not.... surely not!!...

That's the IrOnY!!

if its about getting a few hundred bucks for being a part of war.. then y dont people adopt it as a profession.. there are a lot more dying n needy people..
if u r not alive.. who the hell is going to earn money...

war is never a reason to celebrate..human life is precious..
we shud observe this day to recollect our martyrs whose exceptional bravery and acumen saved the nation.

War is a worse tool to take on for anything but at the same time one side has to fight back for protection. What to do, there are two sides for a coin and so for every story.
You must be very proud of them to have sacrified themselves, their lives for the nation. As a citizen, remembering them is the least thing you need to/could do to appreciate them. Rather than making money a reason for not appreciating the sacrifice.
Well done PJ.

thats really sad..that people think that way for the soldiers who lost their lives for us ..so that we could live in harmony..nobody can compensate for a loss of life but least we can do is salute them and keep their memories in our heart and be grateful to them always..
don't know what to say..I feel terrible when i see people becoming so insensitive and shallow..
its time to salute our warriors and lets thank them from the bottom of our hearts!

Cry not over the dead, worry not about the spilled blood.
For they sacrificed themselves for our safety and health.
Let not the warrior fall, let not our resolve weaken.
Let the dead rest in peace, to see us standing behind them.

Ok not exactly a decent piece, but nevertheless couldn't resist. You should be happy that we won the victory and yes, for the sake of the happiness and the victory...do slap your friend once from me atleast as a tribute to 10 years.

Hai Priya..

Life can never be compared with money;

**We win or lose..lives have been lost on both sides.

YES, They do it for us and they live for us. Its an immense feeling to know that someone else is sacrificing their lives for us, without knowing us. And at the same time, its their immense pleasure to scrifice their lives for us, who is their true unknown.

They know one thing that they are doing it for Indians..:)

soo proud of them..

And ur question is very valid..We have lost many lives on both sides, yet its some thing inevitable..it stays with us untill human beings believe in some thing called humanity :)

Very nice post .. keep it up :)

There are 2 points here...

One the bravery of the soldiers is to be saluted... no doubts on that... but then the carelessness of the politicians and administrators has to be critized..

During the George Fernandes time when this took place, there was lots of allegations against the top brass for defense misappropriation. But in the end, sufferers are our people on the borders and those people who care for them... Remembered Rang De Basanti....

It's shocking how so many ppl equal MONEY to LIFE. It's sad. But there r so many ppl like that Joyce. Thats the very reason why I emphasise on values in life, in my blog...I wanna make sure that alot of ppl u'stand it clearly than just reading and writing abt it...ppl need to apply those values to life.

ur friend needs a reality-check.

Keshi.

There would always be questions about the wars... this one is no exception..

but that doesnt give any right to anyone to belittle the sacrifices that are being made everyday by men in the forces across the worlds... friend or foe... they make sacrifices for what they believe in... the safety and sovereignty of their homeland...

God bless their souls...

cheers...

ur friend sounds idiotic. sorry but thats the best i can say. who wud trade his own life for money ? wud u do ? wud i do? nope.

its derogatory to say this kinda things for the soldiers who guard us who protect us who are our greatest unsung heroes.....

u shudnt even bother to post this stupid opinion abt kargil here.

kargil was most difficult war INDIA fought for the enemy was on height and our brave heart soldiers climbed up those mountains taking on bullets on hearts and laying their lives for the country....

ur friend needs a huge shakeup and doctor treatment.

send ur friend to pakistan. he/she would understand how good and liberal India is. when he/she would be jailed for this kinda stupid statement she / he wud understand his/her liberty in this country. but thts out problem. ppl misuse it to idiotic best....

i m relaxed to see u dont share her opinion....

It's sad yaar, somehow by saying or even thinking about such things, we are doing nothing but belittling the sacrifice of those people, could any amount of money ever bring back the father for those kids? :(

And its high time we actually started respecting these people. The other day, for about a few minutes, a famous news channel showed about the Kargil war and after that, entire screen time was taken by a lady who is having her swayamvar on television, and that is branded as breaking news! Hell!

Sheesh @ your friend! Please stuff some sense into the person. PLEASE!

Total respect to the brave soldiers of our country! Takes a lot of courage and dedication to be in such a life threatening occupation. I really admire them for this.
